You can now change how messages will look using the Mail app on Windows 10, and here's how to do it.

Default font settings Mail app for Windows 10

Although the Mail app for Windows 10 includes all the basic features to manage emails, it’s been a limited experience to customize how new messages look.

In the past, if you wanted to use custom font settings, you needed to repeat the customization for every message. Now, the Mail app has been updated with a new feature that allows you to specify the font family, size, and color for new emails or when replying to an existing email using the new “Default Font” settings.

In this guide, you’ll learn the steps to adjust the Mail app settings to use custom font style, size, and color when writing a new email or replying a message on Windows 10.

Once you’ve completed the steps, your new default font settings will be available when composing a new message or replying to an email.

If you want to revert the changes, you can use the same instructions, but on step No. 4 make sure to click the Reset button.

If you don’t see this option, it’s because you’re not using the version of Mail that supports this feature. The ability to use custom default font settings to compose and reply messages is available starting version 16005.11231.20142.0 and later.
