Although you won’t find an April 2019 Update label anywhere, each release of Windows 10 receives a specific version number. In this case, the first major refresh for 2019 is known as “version 1903,” which also indicates the year and month of the feature update development completion. As an example, the Windows 10 October 2018 Update uses “version 1809,” and the April 2018 Update uses “version 1803.”

  2. Search for winver and press Enter.

If the “About Windows” dialog shows “Version 1903” along with “OS Build 183xx.xxx,” then the Windows 10 April 2019 Update is installed on your desktop, laptop, or tablet.

The second method involves using the Settings app to check the Windows 10 version number to see if version 1903 is running on your PC.

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Click on System.

  3. Click on About.

Once you’re in the “About” page, under “Version”, you should see the 1903 number, and under “OS Build”, the number should be 183xx.xxx or later.

Typically, Windows 10 will never install a new version without notifying you. In addition, after the upgrade, during the first loggin, Microsoft Edge will open and display a welcome message to the new version.

Alternatively, you can quickly find out if the Windows 10 version 1903 is installed using the Windows key + I keyboard shortcut.

If you see the new header with your profile information in the Settings app, then you’re running the latest version, because this is a new feature only available with the April 2019 Update and later releases.
